About Tom Theabo

Tom Theabo has been a guitarist, arranger, writer and teacher for over 40 years.

A full-time musician and teacher, his style is a unique voice in the guitar world. His recordings are numerous and his productivity in the studio is continuing.

Tom was featured with Grammy-Nominee Chris Swansen and John Harmon on the 1985 release "Sweet Thunder" on the Seabreeze Label.

Tom has shared the stage with artists such as George Benson, Chuck Mangione and Gene Bertoncini to name a few.

In January 2000 and again in 2003 Tom toured Japan and helped found the first 'Fraternity of Musicians' between Jazz Players of Japan and America.

Tom has worked with Janet Planet as her main musical director since her beginnings 30 years ago. A highlight of this relationship was the duo recording "The Consequence of Two." This partnership continues through today with the recent release of "Of Thee I Sing" a collection of songs that celebrates the sites, cities, and landscape across the United States.

He has also released his own CD of originals and original arrangements, "A Fine Sample."

He continues to shape his artistry not only on guitar but as an arranger. He has contributed arrangements to recording on Stellar Records.

Although widely known as a jazz player, Tom has played in bands ranging in style from rhythm & blues, classic rock, soul and funk. An example of this is his work with KWT4, and playing with Funky Norman, a regional funk and soul band.
